About the Role:

As a Centre Manager at STEPS, you will lead the day-to-day activities of the New Arrival Centre, implementing Local Authority policies and procedures. You will develop a holistic family-centred approach to support children and young people who are new to Sandwell.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the centre, ensuring the successful admission of New Arrivals, support for new arrival families, timely placements of children into school, and transition support.
  • Work in partnership with the Executive Head Teacher to deliver key aims and objectives.
  • Deliver a high-quality experience for approximately 450 young people attending the centre throughout the year.
  • Act as an influential advocate to strengthen relationships with local schools, stakeholders, and communities.

Requirements:

  • At least 5 years mainstream school teaching experience, preferably with SENCo, Designated Teacher, or Designated Safeguarding Lead experience.
  • Experience working with EAL children, leadership skills, and ability to motivate colleagues and vulnerable children.
  • Safeguarding expertise and commitment to inclusion.

Salary: £48,000 - £53,000 per annum, depending on experience.
