Lead Java Software Engineer

Barclays UK is seeking an experienced Lead Java Software Engineer to join our Core Services Team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading the development of our new platform services and products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and implementation of enterprise-scale applications using Java and Spring Boot frameworks.
  • Develop event-driven services using Kafka or similar technologies.
  • Collaborate with data scientists to build and deploy machine learning models.
  • Manage and mitigate risks through assessment, in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work your team does.
Requirements
  • Proven track record of building enterprise-scale applications using Java and Spring Boot frameworks.
  • Experience building event-driven services using Kafka or similar technologies.
  • Solid understanding of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines and software quality metrics.
