Job Title: VP Lead Java Engineer

Barclays Bank is seeking a highly skilled and experienced VP Lead Java Engineer to join our Core Services Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading great engineering across our new platform services and products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the development of enterprise-scale applications using Java and Spring Boot frameworks.
  • Design and implement event-driven services using Kafka or similar technologies.
  • Develop comprehensive understanding of API and Microservice design patterns and deliver and run services in production.
  • Collaborate with data scientists to build and deploy machine learning models.
Requirements:
  • Proven track record of building enterprise-scale applications using Java and Spring Boot frameworks.
  • Experience building event-driven services using Kafka or similar technologies.
  • Comprehensive understanding of API and Microservice design patterns.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps, CICD pipelines, and software quality metrics.
