Lead Java Software Engineer Opportunity

Barclays is seeking an experienced Lead Java Software Engineer to join our Core Services Team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading the development of high-quality software solutions using Java and Spring Boot frameworks.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement enterprise-scale applications using Java and Spring Boot frameworks.
  • Build and maintain data pipelines, data warehouses, and data lakes to ensure accurate, accessible, and secure data.
  • Collaborate with data scientists to build and deploy machine learning models.
  • Manage and mitigate risks through assessment, in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work your team does.
Requirements:
  • Proven track record of building enterprise-scale applications using Java and Spring Boot frameworks.
  • Experience building event-driven services using Kafka or similar technologies.
  • Solid understanding of DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and software quality metrics.
  • Strong leadership and collaboration skills.
