Residential Support Assistant

This role offers an attractive salary of £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience.
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated individual to work as a Residential Support Assistant with the Presbyterian Church in Ireland. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean and comfortable living environment for residents, including domestic duties such as cleaning, laundry, and equipment maintenance.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and demonstrate a patient and understanding approach when interacting with residents. A willingness to work additional hours and register with the Northern Ireland Social Care Council is also essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Cleaning and tidying resident areas, including bedrooms, bathrooms, and communal spaces
- Laundry duties, including washing, ironing, and distributing resident clothing
- Equipment maintenance and repair, ensuring all appliances are in good working order
- Supporting care staff and maintaining dignity and confidentiality at all times
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Understanding of older people's needs and respect for their autonomy
- Awareness of health and safety practices, with a focus on maintaining a safe and hygienic environment
- Integrity, honesty, patience, and even temperament when interacting with residents
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong emphasis on confidentiality
