About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Child and Adolescent Mental Health to join our multidisciplinary team at Swansea Bay University Health Board.

Job Overview

The successful candidate will work within the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) to provide high-quality care to children and young people with mental health needs. The role will involve working closely with other healthcare professionals, including psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and therapists, to deliver a comprehensive service.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical leadership and expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of children and young people with mental health needs.
  • Develop and implement effective treatment plans in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of service policies and procedures.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to the development of service plans.
  • Provide education and training to other healthcare professionals and students.
Requirements
  • Registered with the GMC and licensed to practice.
  • On Specialist Register with GMC as a specialist in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry or eligible for CCT within 6 months of date of interview.
  • Experience of working in a CAMHS setting and ability to develop effective working relationships with other healthcare professionals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and cope with competing demands.
