Job Title: SEMH Teaching Assistant

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at a specialist alternative provision in Netley. As a SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the education and well-being of students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support the teaching and learning of students with SEN/SEMH needs, working closely with the SENCO to develop and implement individualized plans.
  • Provide one-to-one support and small group sessions to help students meet their potential and overcome challenges.
  • Assist with the development of social, emotional, and mental health skills, promoting a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with the teaching team to plan and deliver engaging and effective lessons, incorporating strategies to support students with SEMH needs.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with students with SEN/SEMH needs, preferably in a SEMH provision.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing circumstances, prioritizing the needs of students and the school.
  • DBS clearance and the right to work in the UK.
