We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with diverse learning needs in a primary school in Newham.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and other support staff to provide tailored assistance to children with SEN, ensuring they have the best possible educational experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide dedicated support in the mornings, focusing on assisting students with SEMH needs, including ADHD diagnosis and potential self-harming behavior.
- Offer crucial assistance in the afternoons, aiding students and remaining flexible to work across Key Stages 1 and 2.
- Collaborate closely with Early Years educators to provide targeted support for children with SEN.
- Utilize your knowledge and skills to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment for all students.
- Collaborate closely with teachers and SENCO to implement tailored support plans and interventions.
- Foster positive relationships with students, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working as a Nursery or Early Years SEN Teaching Assistant or in a similar role is preferred.
- Seeking someone who is proactive, resilient, and can uphold high standards of school and get the best out of the pupils.
- Must be able to Support with Nappy Changing.
- The successful candidate will be able to put the needs of the children at the forefront of what they do, taking into consideration individual special educational needs.
- Strong understanding of SEN, safeguarding, and child protection practices.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently when required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
