Principal Aerodynamics Engineer

Are you a skilled aerodynamics engineer looking to take your career to the next level? We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Aerodynamics Engineer to join our team at Anson McCade, a leading Integrated Defence Company.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and deliver aerodynamic studies and projects, working closely with the Aerodynamics team leads, Technical Experts, and Project Management.
  • Conduct advanced analysis using CFD and other analytical tools to support and enhance missile airframe design.
  • Take the lead on wind tunnel testing and contribute to flight trials, ensuring that critical aerodynamic data is accurately captured and applied to meet design and performance standards.
  • Collaborate with teams from System Design, Mechanical Design, Simulation, and Guidance to develop high-performance missile systems.
  • Mentor junior engineers, supporting their professional development and assisting with the recruitment of top talent.
  • Collaborate with external stakeholders, including the Ministry of Defence (MOD), aerospace companies, and academic institutions, to drive forward aerodynamic research and development.
Requirements:
  • Extensive knowledge of Aerodynamics and Performance, with substantial experience in the aerodynamic design and analysis of missile systems or other high-performance applications.
  • Proven ability to lead task packages, consistently delivering results on time, within budget, and to high-quality standards.
  • Experience in managing complex projects and coordinating activities across multiple teams.
What We Offer:
  • Competitive base salary up to £60,000, depending on experience.
  • Annual bonus of approximately £2,500.
  • Optional paid overtime at a flat rate of 1.25x.
  • Opportunity to accrue up to 15 additional days of leave.
  • 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • Generous pension scheme with 14% contribution (6% employee, 8% employer).
