Key Responsibilities:

As a Specialist Sensory Support Assistant, you will be responsible for providing support to students with sensory impairments in educational settings. This will involve assisting in the implementation of individualised education plans, helping to create a sensory-friendly learning environment, and collaborating with teachers and other staff members to ensure students' needs are met.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have relevant experience working with individuals with sensory impairments, as well as a strong understanding of different sensory needs and how to address them. You will also need to possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively within a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not essential, a Level 2 British Sign Language qualification and experience with assistive technology for sensory impairments would be beneficial in this role.

Working Conditions:

As a Specialist Sensory Support Assistant, you will work primarily in educational settings such as schools or colleges. You may be required to work flexible hours to accommodate students' schedules, and you may be exposed to noise and sensory stimuli.
