Dietetic Assistant Practitioner

About the Role

NHS Scotland is committed to providing high-quality healthcare services to the community. As a Dietetic Assistant Practitioner, you will play a vital role in supporting the dietetic team in delivering patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support dietetic discharge and provide training to healthcare staff on first-line nutritional messages.
  • Continue dietetic treatment plans of patients known to the dietetic service and initiate treatments within specified parameters to patients deemed to be low nutritional risk.
  • Order nutritional products, manage stock, and perform internal administrative tasks to contribute to the overall departmental provision.
  • Manage your own identified caseload with the support of clinical supervision and shadowing in various areas.

Requirements

  • Hold a SVQ 3 or equivalent in a relevant subject.
  • Have experience and confidence using electronic systems, such as Microsoft Word.
  • Demonstrate evidence of competencies and skills required to deliver this post, including excellent time management, great interpersonal/communication skills, organizational skills, self-motivation, and ability to work as part of a team.

Working Hours

37 hours per week.

Driving License/Car Ownership

A full UK/EU/EEA driving license is essential for this role.
