Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Health Psychologist to join our team at Barnet and Chase Farm Hospitals. As a Specialist Practitioner Psychologist, you will play a key role in providing specialist psychological assessment and treatment to patients across various settings, including outpatient and inpatient services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist psychological assessment and treatment to patients with a range of mental health conditions, including those with chronic health conditions and other health problems across the lifespan.
  • Develop and implement effective treatment plans, working collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care.
  • Conduct research and contribute to the development of evidence-based practice, staying up-to-date with the latest research and developments in clinical health psychology.
  • Supervise and train junior staff, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous learning.
  • Communicate complex information effectively to patients, families, carers, and other professionals, using clear and concise language.

Requirements
  • Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology, accredited by the British Psychological Society.
  • Experience of working within a clinical health psychology setting, providing specialist psychological assessment and treatment to patients.
  • Knowledge of theoretical models and psychological interventions relevant to the needs of patients with long-term conditions and those experiencing psychological difficulties secondary to their health condition.
  • Well-developed skills in communication, including the ability to convey complex information effectively to patients, families, carers, and other professionals.
  • Experience of working with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures, with a commitment to promoting equality and diversity.
