Contract Finance Accountant (NHS AfC: Band 6) - Finance - NHS Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board

NHS Kent and Medway Integrated Care Board is seeking a skilled Contract Finance Accountant to join their team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the implementation of the National Payment System, including income and expenditure, contract finance support, controls, patient validation, and contract forecasting.
  • Deliver the contract finance function and operating model, and lead a team of finance professionals.
  • Provide expert contract finance support and strategic analysis of the contract portfolio to ICB teams.
  • Contribute to the development of new contract finance models to support service transformation.
  • Coordinate the transition of contract reporting to Secondary User Service statistics.
  • Ensure accurate, timely, and useful financial information is provided to stakeholders.
  • Maintain, monitor, and develop income and expenditure budgets through the ledger.
  • Produce ad-hoc reports and analysis as required, and answer queries promptly and accurately.
  • Produce monthly and forecast contract finance reporting.
  • Write and maintain procedures for own area of responsibility, striving to improve them where appropriate.
  • Investigate variances on contract performance and make required budget or expenditure adjustments for reporting overall ICB finance position.
  • Assist with the collation, evaluation, and reporting of externally collected data, such as PBR/SUS.
