sequa gGmbH, a globally operating non-profit development organisation, is seeking an experienced professional to join its team as an International Expert for Fresh Produce Matchmaking. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in facilitating and increasing imports from developing and emerging countries to Europe.
About the ProjectThe Import Promotion Desk (IPD) is a project implemented by sequa gGmbH in close cooperation with the Federation of German Wholesale, Foreign Trade and Services (BGA). Funded by Germany's Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the IPD aims to strengthen small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and build sustainable economic structures in partner countries.
Your Responsibilities- Matchmaking IPD exporters in the fresh produce sector with European buyers at various events and activities, including contacting European buyers before events and arranging meetings onsite.
- Follow-up with IPD exporters to determine the status of business relationships with European buyers.
- At least 10 years of practical experience in the fresh produce sector in Europe and/or experience in IPD partner countries.
- Excellent knowledge of quality and legal requirements, prices, and sales channels in the European market for fresh produce.
- Proven record of own network among European fresh produce importers, distributors, and wholesalers.
- Long-term experience in consulting agricultural production companies, especially in emerging and developing markets.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English.
