About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Registered Mental Health Nurse in our hospital based in Ayr, South Ayrshire. Our hospital provides acute adult mental health services within a low Secure Service, for patients with personality disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality care to patients with mental illness and personality disorder.
  • Develop therapeutic relationships to optimize patient engagement and participation in care planning.
  • Contribute to patient assessments, compiling a plan of care alongside the individual, and monitoring patient progress.
  • At a more senior level, lead shifts and mentor student nurses and other team members.
  • Follow all codes of conduct, standards, and legislation, respecting the rights of others and promoting ethical practice.
Requirements and Preferences

You will have excellent interpersonal skills, a high level of self-motivation, and a flexible approach. A commitment to patient-centred care and evidence-based practice is essential. The drive to continually push your own personal learning and development is also desirable.
