About the RoleWe are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Building Inspector to join our team. As a key member of our building control team, you will be responsible for ensuring that building plans comply with relevant regulations and legislation.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct inspections of building works and produce detailed records of all inspections undertaken
- Issue initial notices, plan certificates, amendments notices, and final certificates
- Ensure that all relevant inspections have been carried out and appropriate certification submitted
- Carry out duties in accordance with QMS procedures
- Deliver consistent service and build effective client relationships
- Provide mentoring and support to trainee and assistant building control surveyors
- Participate in external meetings with clients as required
- Chartered membership of an appropriate professional institution or working towards
- Registered as level 2 RBI or higher status
- Experience in the construction industry
- Experience of plan appraisal and inspection of residential developments within Building Control
- Ability to demonstrate a competent understanding and necessary ability, knowledge, and skill to complete the role successfully
- Client-facing and relationship-building skills
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with appropriate interpersonal skills
- Ability to effectively manage a varied workload
- Ability to work with minimum supervision, in line with company policies and procedures
- Knowledge of relevant standards/legislation and environmental issues
- IT literate with the ability to use a range of software programmes
