Job Title: School-based Youth Justice Prevention Officer

Job Summary:

The School-based Youth Justice Prevention Officer plays a vital role in creating a safe and supportive educational environment for students. This position aims to engage with youths within schools to prevent involvement in the justice system, providing support and guidance for at-risk individuals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage with students to identify behavioral issues and provide intervention strategies.
  • Develop and implement preventative programs tailored to the needs of the student population.
  • Collaborate with school staff to create a supportive environment and proactive discipline policies.
  • Act as a mentor for students, providing guidance and support in their academic and personal lives.
  • Facilitate workshops and group sessions for students on topics like conflict resolution and decision-making.
  • Work collaboratively with parents, teachers, and community resources to address youth issues effectively.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of programs and interventions, making necessary adjustments to improve outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work, education, criminal justice, or a related field.
  • Experience working with youth in an educational or community setting.
  • Strong understanding of issues affecting at-risk youth and the justice system.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for building trust with students and staff.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups of individuals.
  • Skills in conflict resolution, mediation, and crisis intervention.
  • Commitment to promoting inclusivity and understanding in a school setting.

Working Hours: 35 hours per week

Working Hours Schedule: 09:00 - 17:00

Pay Rate: £17.04 per hour
