Purchase Ledger Clerk Job Description

Watsham Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Purchase Ledger Clerk to join their team in Haywards Heath. As a key member of the finance team, the successful candidate will be responsible for processing purchase invoices and making timely payments to suppliers and subcontractors.

This is a varied and fast-paced role that requires a minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar position. The ideal candidate will have excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work accurately under pressure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Entering supplier invoices and ensuring accurate and timely processing
  • Three-way matching invoices to purchase orders and goods received notes, and resolving any discrepancies
  • Managing multicurrency invoices and payments, and ensuring compliance with company policies
  • Preparing and approving payment runs, and reconciling multiple bank accounts
  • Responding to supplier and subcontractor queries, and providing excellent customer service
  • Setting up new suppliers and subcontractors on the COINS system, and maintaining accurate records
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of experience in a Purchase Ledger role
  • Strong knowledge of financial systems and processes
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently under pressure
  • Local and able to attend the office 5 days a week
