Job Title: Accounts Assistant

Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited is seeking a highly skilled Accounts Assistant to join their team. As an Accounts Assistant, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks including preparing and posting invoices, processing sales invoices, and maintaining supplier account information.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Financial Transactions: Prepare and post invoices to the purchase ledger, process sales invoices to the sales ledger, and post cashbook entries.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Reconcile bank accounts and ensure accurate financial records.
  • Supplier Management: Maintain supplier account information, including payment details and contact information.
  • Expense Management: Manage petty cash and expenses, ensuring accurate and timely recording.
  • Financial Reporting: Assist the Finance Manager with the month-end process, highlighting areas of control weakness or inefficiencies.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: AAT Level 3 study or equivalent accounting qualification, or QBE.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a similar role, with a minimum of 3 years.
  • Skills: Proficiency in finance packages such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage 50, and good computer literacy, particularly with Excel.
  • Personal Qualities: Good written and communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work to deadlines and prioritize tasks.
