About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Legal Counsel to join our team at Maintel, a leading communications managed service provider. As a strategic advisor and business partner, you will provide timely and proactive legal advice on a wide range of commercial legal matters.

You will play a crucial role in supporting the business, leading negotiations, issue spotting, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. This position requires a motivated self-starter with a growth mindset who is comfortable leading change and driving improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality legal advice on complex issues, including telecommunications law, regulatory compliance, corporate governance, commercial contracts, intellectual property, marketing, and dispute resolution.
  • Support senior management in decision-making by advising on the legal and commercial implications of business strategies, new product launches, and expansions.
  • Lead the negotiation, drafting, and review of key commercial contracts with vendors, partners, service providers, and customers.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders on a range of legal and strategic issues.
  • Help support the transformation of the legal function by streamlining standard contracts and developing new templates, playbooks, and processes.
  • Coordinate and conduct dispute resolution matters, liaising with senior management, the legal department, and external advisors.
  • Provide training on key legal areas and risks to the business.
  • Support and mentor junior team members, fostering their professional growth.

Qualifications:

  • Qualified lawyer with suitable experience (this is pitched at a senior lawyer level but we are open to more junior candidates with the right skills and attitude).
  • Experience in a corporate legal team or relevant private practice in telecommunications or technology.
  • Managed services/cloud-based solutions experience is a plus.
  • Experience in a publicly listed company and working on public sector frameworks is advantageous.
  • Interest or experience in legal operations or process improvements.

Salary Range: £80,000 - £110,000 per annum, depending on experience.
