About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Maternity Care Assistant to join our team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to women and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist midwives and other healthcare professionals in providing safe and holistic care to women and their newborns.
  • Support women in antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care, including assisting with personal care and maintaining accurate records.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with women, their families, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in tracking, obtaining, and filing clinical records, ensuring confidentiality and data protection.
  • Contribute to a culture of inclusivity, respect, and empathy, promoting a positive experience for women and their families.
Requirements
  • GCSE English and Mathematics or equivalent.
  • NVQ2 in Health and Social Care.
  • Commit to undertaking in-house training.
  • Good numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Awareness of safeguarding issues and health and safety protocols.
  • Knowledge of data protection and confidentiality.
