About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and caring Maternity Care Assistant to join our team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. As a Maternity Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to women and their families during pregnancy, childbirth, and postnatal periods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide emotional and practical support to women and their families during pregnancy, childbirth, and postnatal periods.
  • Assist midwives and other healthcare professionals with clinical tasks and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of patient care and treatment.
  • Communicate effectively with women, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide holistic care.
Requirements
  • GCSE English and Mathematics or equivalent.
  • NVQ2 in Health and Social Care or equivalent.
  • Commit to undertaking in-house training.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting is desirable.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
