About the Role

Clarksons PLC is seeking a highly skilled Network Engineer to join our Infrastructure team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional 3rd line support to our global infrastructure network and delivering various network projects within tight timeframes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proactive monitoring of IT systems and implementation of preventative measures to minimize system downtime.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex network issues, ensuring minimal disruption to our operations.
  • Test business applications, network, and server performance, providing performance statistics and reports, and developing strategies for maintaining and improving core infrastructure.
  • Collaboration with Project Management to deliver site deployments/moves, ensuring seamless execution.
  • Adherence to all IT security policies and assistance in enforcing and monitoring of IT security policies, maintaining the highest level of security standards.
  • Participation in on-call rota and regular weekend network maintenance, ensuring our infrastructure remains operational 24/7.
  • A willingness to travel is essential, with domestic and overseas trips required.
  • Additional/ad hoc duties as required to meet the needs of the business, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Relationship building with excellent interpersonal skills, quickly building rapport with colleagues and stakeholders.
Requirements
  • At least 3 years minimum experience within an IT support/administration role, with a strong background in network engineering.
  • Able to demonstrate an understanding of routing, switching, firewalls, SD-WAN, and associated protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF).
  • High capacity to learn, with a strong desire to stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and trends.
  • Hands-on experience working on multiple vendors, including Cisco and Meraki (Firewalls, APs, and Switches).
  • Experience working within the Service Now framework, with a strong understanding of ITIL processes.
  • Knowledge and application of ITIL processes, with a focus on incident management, problem management, and change management.
  • Experience monitoring, investigating, and diagnosing issues, with a strong analytical mindset.
