About the Role

The data sourcing team is the driving force behind CFM's data initiatives, responsible for identifying and evaluating new datasets, providing critical insights, and negotiating their procurement and onboarding.

Key Responsibilities
  • Discover and evaluate new datasets from various sources, both familiar and new.
  • Attend data conferences globally, lead data sourcing initiatives in new geographies, and conduct desk research into potential sources of valuable data.
  • Maintain relationships with existing data providers to stay up-to-date with their latest products and explore new sources of data.
  • Seek out unique sources of data, leveraging creativity and persistence to drive innovation.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to distill complex information and maintain a big-picture perspective.
  • Experience in the financial sector, with a deep understanding of financial markets and market drivers.
  • Comfort with data, including structured and unstructured data, time series analysis, and basic analytical tools like machine learning.
  • Recognized as a creative thinker, able to leverage extensive knowledge to conceive new sources of data.
  • A detective's nose for interesting facts and a dogged determination to chase leads to their conclusion.
  • Relevant experience in Sales and Trading, particularly in the alternative data space.
