About The Role

M Group Services is seeking a highly skilled Design Engineer to join our team on the IOS Anglian Water Alliance project.

As a Design Engineer, you will be responsible for providing and modifying designs for construction teams, contractors, and clients. You will need to understand issues in any part of the water sector asset base and collaborate to communicate clearly a workable outcome for others to construct.

You will research and discover problems, develop insight, and provide a focused definition. You will develop, explore, and create potential solutions, test, listen, and receive feedback to find a solution. You will need to take account of any pre-construction information, eliminate foreseeable health and safety risks to anyone affected by the project, and take steps to reduce or control any risks that cannot be eliminated.

The role requires you to be free thinking, challenging, engaged, and self-motivated to continuously develop your level of technical expertise. Bringing innovation into the business and questioning established thought is a key part of the role. You will need to apply sound engineering judgement at all times. You will understand and apply design guidance documents, standards, and specifications, and develop new ways of working. Site visits are a requirement, as is travel throughout the region.

Requirements
  • Experience of designing within the construction industry
  • Degree in a relevant technical field
  • Membership of a relevant professional body
  • HNC/HND in mechanical engineering
  • Knowledgeable in research issues
  • Ability to produce clear design documents
