Electrical Design Engineer

Join Dage Precision Industries, Ltd. as an Electrical Design Engineer and contribute to the development of innovative X-Ray and Bond Test products.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to support the electrical/electronic design and testing of new products, as well as the maintenance of existing products.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Design and layout of electrical systems for the control of Industrial X-Ray Inspection and Bond Test machinery.
  2. Design and documentation of electrical panels, PCBs, and general machine wiring.
  3. Liaison with Mechanical and Software design teams to ensure effective integration of electrical systems with mechanical and software components.
  4. Practical electrical and electronic prototyping.
  5. Specification, documentation, and management of electrical bills of materials.
  6. Support and improve electrical design of existing product range.

Requirements

Essential:

  1. Extensive experience of designing electrical panels for industrial systems (Circuit breaker contactors).
  2. Experience of specifying designing wiring looms for electrical machinery.
  3. CAD experience (preferably AutoCAD, Inventor, Cadstar).
  4. Good practical electrical/electronic skills for prototyping testing.
  5. Knowledge of relevant electrical safety standards (IEC61010, NPA79, etc.).

Desirable:

  1. Experience of electronic circuit design (analogue/digital).
  2. Experience working with embedded microcontroller systems and associated buses.
  3. Experience working with PLCs.
  4. Basic understanding of software/firmware design concepts.
  5. Advanced Microsoft Office and Excel skills.

Travel Requirements

Regular travel between Aylesbury & Colchester dependent upon business needs. Occasional international travel.
