Main Responsibilities

As a key member of our Commercial Leadership Team, you will play a strategic leadership role, driving the direction of our data and analytics teams. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leadership
    • Collaborate with the Executive Team and Commercial Leadership Team to align data initiatives with Acosta's goals and business priorities.
    • Develop and implement an operational model for data management, working with Business Unit Directors, external partners, and clients.
    • Demonstrate strong strategic leadership of key priorities, the team, and our clients.
    • Produce and deliver actionable insights through coaching and supporting the Insight team.
    • Manage team performance, capability, and personal development, prioritizing and assigning resources to key projects.
    • Contribute to business development by providing innovative solutions and playing an active role in business growth.
  • Reporting, Data, Insight & Evaluation
    • Ensure data accuracy, reliability, and compliance.
    • Support the data science team in developing and deploying predictive models, machine learning algorithms, and AI solutions.
    • Create actionable insights and reports to support strategic decision-making across the organization.
    • Lead and improve the commercialization and quality of insights for current and new clients.
    • Develop tools and training to ensure efficient critical field analysis and insight production.
    • Highlight and communicate business opportunities to influence incremental sales.
    • Drive insight projects to deliver continuous improvement for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Direct and perform operational and impactful analysis as required.
  • Client Relationship Development
    • Represent Acosta's market-leading data and insight capabilities as the face and technical expert.
    • Support and attend regular client business reviews and new business pitches.
    • Build key relationships with relevant people within clients' businesses.
    • Lead business and market intelligence communication to ensure the wider business is up to date with news and developments.
    • Understand clients' objectives, business, and KPIs, and step-change their businesses through the power of data.
    • Drive the right data-driven strategy, persuading internal teams and clients through strong storytelling and evidence-based business cases.
    • Ensure every action taken directly improves performance against clients' objectives.

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Demonstrated experience developing insights for sales and marketing solutions development.
  • A good working understanding of core technical skills and subject matter areas to support and guide the team.
  • Proven leadership and team management experience.
  • Problem-solving, decision-making, and conflict management and resolution skills.
  • Ability to balance the needs of multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, able to interact and influence at all levels.
  • Strong organizational and planning skills, forward-focused with the ability to evaluate and adapt plans as required.
  • Target-driven with good time and task management skills.
  • Self-motivated, confident, and determined.
  • Administration and organizational skills.
  • Previous experience of PowerBI.
  • Retail and/or FMCG experience preferable.
