About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Facades Quantity Surveyor to join our national Construction business. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for carrying out surveying duties and functions on a range of projects, including high-end residential, high-quality hotels, student accommodation, offices, hospitals, and traditional residential and commercial developments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop close inter-relations with clients and subcontractors to maintain profitable projects.
- Supervise and manage site and trainee surveyors on various projects.
- Attend tender handover meetings and take responsibility for all relevant cost information.
- Form contract budgets from tender information and calculate total profit/loss forecasts.
- Carry out monthly budget monitoring and update budgets for works in progress.
- Provide interim cost and value reconciliation, monitor cashflows for projects.
- Prepare and agree on interim Applications for Payment and Final Accounts, all aspects of measurement.
- Procure subcontractors, including obtaining agreement on rates, measurements, and placing subcontract orders.
- Implement subcontract payment controls, evaluate contract works, variations, materials, contract charges, and claims.
- Record confirmed verbal instructions that have a cost and/or time effect to ensure their recovery.
- Keep records of site progress, including photographs, written records, marked-up drawings, and collection of data, ensuring compliance with company procedures.
- Monitor progress and report on delays with Notices of Delay to clients, including preparation and submission of prolongation costs for payment.
- Liaise and coordinate with all business unit departments to improve all levels of communication to benefit and develop the company's objectives.
About You:
We are looking for a strong commercial and technical professional with a proven track record of managing commercial staff across multiple sites. You should have experience in residential and commercial sectors using differing construction systems. A motivational individual with good leadership qualities, sound contract knowledge, and experience in various subcontract types is essential. Managerial experience, including track record of managing commercial staff across multiple sites, is also required.
