About the Role

Service Care Solutions Ltd is seeking a dedicated Placements Officer to join their Commissioning and Placements team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of vulnerable children by ensuring they are placed in safe, supportive environments that meet their needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Urgent Response to Risk: Promptly address any urgent situations involving risks to vulnerable children, exercising sound judgment and discretion.
  • Placement Sourcing: Collaborate with internal teams and external providers to identify and secure suitable care placements for children, leveraging relationships and expertise.
  • Collaborative Working: Foster strong working relationships with various teams to identify and match available carers with children who require placements, ensuring seamless communication and coordination.
  • Information Management: Gather, share, and manage information to support informed placement decisions, developing tools to track and manage placement resources effectively.
  • Liaison and Partnership: Engage with other Trust placements teams, particularly when sourcing placements outside of Sandwell, to ensure that any potential risks or vulnerabilities are identified and mitigated.
  • Quality Assurance and Improvement: Take ownership of the quality of your work, maintaining and enhancing your skills to ensure the highest standards of care and support for vulnerable children.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Possess a relevant NVQ Level 3 qualification or similar, with a willingness to obtain NVQ Level 3 within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Experience: Demonstrate previous experience in children's placements within a social care setting, showcasing a strong understanding of child welfare and protection principles.
  • Communication Skills: Exhibit excellent verbal communication skills, both face-to-face and over the phone, to effectively engage with stakeholders and build strong relationships.
