Job Title: NDT Technical Deputy

Jackson Hogg Ltd is seeking a highly skilled NDT Technical Deputy to join our team. As a key member of our NDT team, you will be responsible for supporting the NDT Technical Authority in the management of day-to-day tasks and ensuring excellent services to clients across various sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure NDT facilities and equipment comply with relevant specifications by defining purchasing requirements, conducting goods-inwards checks, and setting calibration and control check requirements.
  • Verify the completion of NDT personnel training, examination, and certification according to company procedures.
  • Develop and approve procedures, technique sheets, and related documentation to ensure adherence to quality standards.
  • Ensure NDT reports meet required standards and provide guidance to personnel to resolve any issues.
  • Conduct regular NDT audits, including site observations, test piece audits, and internal audits, to ensure compliance with current requirements.
  • Stay informed about changes in industry requirements and assist in implementing necessary updates.
  • Support the NDT Technical Authority on technical questions and assist in decision-making processes related to NDT issues.
  • Coordinate with Inspection and Quality personnel to ensure that NDT systems and resources effectively support their needs.
Requirements:
  • Obtain in-date PCN Level 2 qualification in Ultrasonic Testing, Magnetic Particle Testing, and Dye Penetrant testing.
  • Desirable – Eddy Current Flaw Detection PCN Level 2.
  • Desirable – Experience with forged and wrought metals.
  • Experienced working within an NDT role with experience identifying complex defects (Cracks, abrasions, thinning, pitting, and corrosion).
  • Highly organized and ability to work within a client-facing role.
