About this role

We are looking for a highly motivated and caring individual to join our team as a Healthcare Assistant, working with CAMHS Inpatients. The successful candidate will have knowledge and skills of working with young people with mental health difficulties.

Main duties

The role involves working within the team to deliver quality care to the young people admitted to the Inpatient Wards. This includes assisting with individual and group therapy sessions through an identified timetable of educational and therapeutic activities. Support and supervision will be given by the Registered Nurses.

Northamptonshire Healthcare Foundation Trust is an integrated primary care and mental health Trust, providing physical, mental health and specialty services in both hospital settings and out in the community. We focus on delivering care that is as easy to access as possible, with many of our services provided at home, work or in community settings.

Person specification

The ideal candidate will have a good standard of general education, a Health and Social Diploma or Care Certificate, and knowledge of factors contributing to adolescent mental health. Experience of working with CAMHS and knowledge of SystmOne are desirable skills.

Key skills

The successful candidate will be able to undertake the role of a co-worker, demonstrating an understanding of care planning. They will also possess good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively, as well as the ability to use initiative and work in a self-directed way.
