About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mental Health Lead to join our team at Northamptonshire Healthcare Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Integrated Response Hub, you will play a vital role in providing specialist mental health assessment and liaison to individuals in crisis.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Support the functioning of our 24-hour telephone support line, ensuring seamless communication with statutory and non-statutory mental health agencies.
  2. Liaise with local mental health services, 3rd sector partners, and other interested organizations to maintain effective protocols for communication and collaboration.
  3. Oversee specialized risk and mental health assessments of individuals engaged with the crisis care pathway, informing recommendations for their care and treatment.
  4. Act as a focal point for the identification and planning of aftercare for individuals within the Crisis Care Pathway.
  5. Improve the experience of patients with mental health illnesses who receive care in the crisis care pathway, ensuring a responsive and flexible service.
  6. Provide specialist mental health perspectives to multi-disciplinary team members regarding assessment, intervention, management, and safety planning.
  7. Contribute to support, training, and skill development for individuals and groups in mental health awareness, promoting a culture of learning and improvement.
  8. Assist the Manager with the day-to-day management of junior colleagues, providing clinical supervision and support.
  9. Promote and develop effective working relationships with key groups in general acute hospitals and associated community-based teams, EMAS, Police, and 3rd sector colleagues.
  10. Work as a key lead member of the Integrated Response Hub, offering a range of interventions for individuals with various mental health difficulties, in line with the service operational policy.
  11. Offer education, opportunistically and on a planned basis, to individuals to improve their knowledge and skills of mental health and reduce the stigma of mental health.
  12. Provide out-of-hours support and cover for the service countywide, working on a shift pattern across a 24/7 basis.
