Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated English Language Educator to join our team at EdStart Schools. As an English Teacher for Secondary School, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality education to our students, ensuring they achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Curriculum Development: Maintain a thorough and up-to-date knowledge of the English curriculum, taking into account wider educational developments relevant to your work.
  • Lesson Planning: Plan engaging and effective lessons, activities, and tutorials to meet the individual learning needs of your students.
  • Teaching and Assessment: Use a range of strategies and follow school policies for teaching, tutoring, and classroom management, ensuring the health, safety, and wellbeing of your students.
  • Progress Monitoring: Assess, monitor, and record the progress of your students, providing clear and constructive feedback.
  • Professional Development: Take responsibility for your own professional growth, using outcomes to improve your teaching and student learning.
Performance Expectations
  • Interpersonal Skills: Positively interact with all students, treating them with respect and providing equal opportunities for learning.
  • Classroom Management: Create a safe and conducive learning environment, enforcing rules consistently and fairly.
  • Lesson Planning and Delivery: Design lesson plans to meet student needs and cover required standards, adopting various teaching strategies to effectively teach the curriculum.
  • Assessment and Feedback: Use effective assessment techniques to monitor student performance and identify needs, regularly reviewing the effectiveness of teaching and assessment procedures.

Requirements
  • Education: Education-related degree required.
  • Experience: 2+ years' secondary teaching experience preferred.
  • Skills: Ability to build rapport with secondary school-age students, excellent communication and presentation skills, and a demonstrable record of helping students achieve assessment test scores.
