Job Purpose

We are seeking an experienced English language teacher to join our team. As an English teacher, you will be responsible for engaging students in the learning process, ensuring learner outcomes are maximised, and delivering interesting and enjoyable lessons. You may teach General English, IELTS and Cambridge exam preparation, Business, Finance, and EAP/ESP courses, depending on your experience and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, deliver, and assess student work, ensuring all learning outcomes are met
  • Keep accurate records of student attendance and administrative duties
  • Develop, update, and improve course materials
  • Use a variety of learning and teaching methods/materials
  • Attend meetings to contribute to decision-making and develop productive working relationships
  • Teachers are expected to be on site 15 minutes before the start of their first lesson
  • Regular meetings with an Academic Manager to set objectives and measure progress
  • A full induction and regular training will be provided
  • Monthly CPD sessions and DELTA qualified teachers will run development or training sessions
  • Take on other responsibilities to support the work of EP
Safeguarding and Welfare Responsibilities
  • Promote safeguarding within the venue and work with others to ensure a safe and inclusive environment
  • Provide emotional and pastoral care for students and promote their mental and physical wellbeing
  • Effectively manage classroom management and student behaviour
  • Be aware of prevent duty and report any concerns to the Prevent lead and/or safeguarding lead
  • Make yourself aware of EP's safeguarding policy, attendance policy, safer recruitment policy, and other policies relating to welfare and safeguarding of students
Requirements
  • Teaching qualifications: CELTA/CertTesol, DELTA, Trinity Dip TESOL or equivalent at Master's level desired
  • Experience leading social programme activities
  • Demonstrable experience for similar courses in English Language schools
  • Excellent English language knowledge and in-depth understanding of teaching methodology in a multilingual environment
  • Structured and creative approach to lesson planning
  • Ability to work with classroom technology with ease and creativity
  • Professional conduct in all interactions with staff and students
  • Ability to maintain thorough and organised student records
  • Highly motivated and able to work with minimum supervision
  • Ability to work with diverse groups of people and enthusiasm and commitment to working as a team

The teacher will also be expected to demonstrate their commitment to EP's values and regulations, including equal opportunities policy, and to their Health and Safety responsibilities to ensure a safe and secure working environment for staff, students, and other visitors to the campus.
