Job Summary

Essex County Council is seeking a skilled Transport Officer to join our Integrated Passenger Transport Unit. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality transport services to the people of Essex.

Key Responsibilities

  • Use your knowledge and experience to deliver transport services to passengers across the county, supporting the development of the transport network.
  • Process requests and information in accordance with guidelines, ensuring deadlines and performance indicators are met.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to manage financial processes and record spend and income.
  • Oversee the operational delivery of passenger transport contracts and suppliers, monitoring performance and highlighting issues to relevant managers.
  • Contribute to activity that ensures service levels and costs are applied to ECC's service provision, maximizing the benefit to local residents.

Requirements

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent by experience.
  • Knowledge of procurement and contract management processes and ensuring compliance.
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills, with the ability to persuade stakeholders.
  • Evidence of successfully delivering outcomes in a complex, customer-facing environment.
