Job Title: Lead Podiatrist

Job Summary:

The Royal Devon and Exeter NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced and motivated Lead Podiatrist to join our team. As a key member of our senior podiatry team, you will be responsible for delivering highly specialist podiatric care, including triaging, and providing clinical leadership and governance to staff, apprentices, and students.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced podiatrist to join our team as a Band 7 Lead Complex Care Podiatrist and Team Leader. You will be responsible for leading on the development and implementation of service innovations, particularly in the development of clinical pathways, and supporting operational and professional leads in delivering performance targets, waiting list management, and driving forward service development and high standards of care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering highly specialist podiatric care, including triaging
  • Providing clinical leadership and governance to staff, apprentices, and students
  • Line management for a small team of clinical staff
  • Leading on the development and implementation of service innovations, particularly in the development of clinical pathways
  • Supporting operational and professional leads in delivering performance targets, waiting list management, and driving forward service development and high standards of care
  • Deputising for the Operational and Professional Podiatry Leads when needed

Requirements:

We are looking for a highly motivated and organised podiatrist with a minimum of 3 years post-graduate experience. You should have excellent communication skills and a sound understanding of clinical governance and risk management. You should also have knowledge of professional and national guidelines and be up to date with current best practice.

Working Pattern:

This is a permanent, full-time role, working Monday to Friday, am - pm. The salary advertised for this position reflects the Agenda for Change 4-5 rates, inclusive of a pay award implemented from October 4. If you join before this date, the pay award will be backdated to April 4 or your start date, whichever is later.
