Job Title: Freight Coordinator

Location: Remote

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: Up to £35,000 per annum

We are seeking a skilled Freight Coordinator to join our team. As a Freight Coordinator, you will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the transportation of goods via marine vessels, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to all regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Dealing with OOG, Breakbulk/Project Cargo shipments, planning and logistics.
  • Vessel charter operations (liaising with ship owners, shipbroker, internal and overseas P&M offices, port agents)
  • Book sub-contractors as required
  • Shipping documentation (eg Bills of Lading, cargo manifest, Mate receipt, LOI)
  • Demurrage calculations (based on our voyage charter party)
  • Liaise with the client to gain technical details
  • Liaise with the technical team to arrange asset delivery to and from the port
  • Liaise with internal offices and agents to keep them informed
  • Send communications to clients and keep updates regular
  • Update clients with load/discharge sequences even when out of hours
  • Monitor cost accuracy from subcontractors/check port costs and try to maximise our profit by reducing our costs
  • Work to resolve operational issues when required
  • Communicate operational matters with loadmaster teams
  • Ensure compliance with import regulations and trade compliance laws
