About the Role

As a Wastewater Treatment Operator, you'll play a vital role in enhancing and protecting the environment, while improving the quality of rivers and coastal waters for wildlife and communities.

This role offers full training to support you in completing the technical aspects of the job. We're seeking someone with transferable skills that can develop into this position.

Daily responsibilities will involve sampling and analysing water to ensure it's treated to the correct standards, identifying issues with equipment, and carrying out routine checks on assets.

As part of a team, you'll be responsible for operating and controlling wastewater treatment works and pumping stations across the Willington area. You'll carry out routine tasks to ensure our wastewater assets are operating correctly.

You'll use data from company systems to identify trends in performance and investigate issues. This will involve working with the wider team to resolve problems.

In addition, you'll collaborate and communicate with diverse teams to ensure we maintain compliance with regulatory obligations and protect the environment.

About You

Excellent communication skills are essential in this role, both verbally and written. You'll be a good problem-solver, able to respond quickly to issues and identify the best solution.

We're looking for a team player who's adaptable to meet a varied workload and comfortable working alone with minimal supervision. You'll be proactive, willing to make suggestions for improvement.

Attention to detail is crucial, as you'll be monitoring assets via visual checks, computer systems, and lab analysis. You'll need to follow processes and procedures, and be computer literate with a willingness to use new apps.

Awareness of health and safety is beneficial, as you'll be using company safety devices to ensure you have the necessary support and controls.

The role involves pumps and process equipment, so prior experience or working with equipment is advantageous, but not essential, as training will be provided.

The water industry is constantly changing, so you'll need to be adaptable to meet business needs.

If you're practical, pragmatic, and enjoy hands-on problem-solving, this could be a great role for you. Please note that a full valid UK manual driving licence is required.
