Job Overview:

The Safety Incident Response Manager will play a crucial role in the Transformation Unit, leading effective, timely, and proportionate responses to patient safety incidents. The post holder will work collaboratively and proactively with staff in accordance with Trust, National, and Commissioner's policies and good practice.

The estimated salary for this position is £49,000-£55,000 per annum, based on the job description and location.

The job requires a degree or equivalent qualification, highly developed specialist patient safety knowledge, and evidence of completion of safety-related modules or programmes of study. Additionally, the post holder must demonstrate knowledge of national patient safety strategy, patient safety incident management, and use of local risk management systems.

The main duties of the job include developing better systems and fostering cultural changes to enhance patient safety, ensuring continuous quality and safety improvements by analysing incident trends and escalating concerns. When safety incidents occur, the post holder will lead and support timely responses using various tools, creating and maintaining action plans to address issues. Conducting reviews and investigations will be a key part of this role, helping to improve systems and processes.

The person specification includes highly developed specialist patient safety knowledge, underpinned by theory and experience, as well as evidence of completion of safety-related modules or programmes of study. The post holder must also demonstrate knowledge of national patient safety strategy, patient safety incident management, and use of local risk management systems.
