Job Title: Design and Development Engineer

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled Design and Development Engineer to join our team at the Institute of the Motor Industry. limited. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing fluid system components, including electro-mechanical valves and mechanisms.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Design and develop fluid system components, such as electro-mechanical valves and mechanisms, to meet customer requirements.
  2. Participate in customer programmes as designated development engineer, ensuring timely and effective delivery of projects.
  3. Develop and maintain technical documentation to company and customer quality standards.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure design and development align with company goals and objectives.
  5. Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in fluid system design and development.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering to at least 2:1 standard.
  • Minimum 5 years post-qualification work experience in the space/aerospace industry.
  • Proven experience with CAD for generating 3D models and detail drafting for manufacture.
  • Ability to perform structural analysis using FE software for static and dynamic analysis.
  • Experience with test rig design, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems for fluid systems.
