About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Respiratory Assistant Technical Officer to join our team at Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trusts. As a key member of our diagnostic team, you will be responsible for performing a range of respiratory and sleep physiological measurements to appropriate standards and in accordance with local and national guidelines.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform basic and complex respiratory and sleep physiological measurements to appropriate standards and in accordance with local and national guidelines.
  • Conduct routine and non-routine tests, including spirometry and capillary blood gas sampling.
  • Collect and analyze blood samples, and perform other related tasks as required.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to complete high-volume daily clinical workload.
  • Develop and maintain a high level of knowledge and skills in respiratory and sleep diagnostics, and stay up-to-date with relevant training and developments.
Requirements
  • GCSE grade C or above in English language, mathematics, and biology/science.
  • Experience of working with the general public, preferably in a healthcare environment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, colleagues, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a high level of organization and time management skills.
  • Physical fitness, with the ability to stand for long periods and perform tasks that require manual dexterity.
