Job Title: Finance Systems Manager

The Finance Systems Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Finance Systems team in the Directorate of Finance at the University of Manchester.

This role involves leading the Finance Systems 'business-as-usual' (BAU) team, including line management of 2 to 3 Finance Systems Administrators. Primary responsibilities include providing systems support to users, overseeing systems processes at month ends, responding to requests and issues as they arise, report development and distribution, and ensuring systems-based control and reconciliations processes are in place and well managed.

The Finance Systems Manager will also work with other members of the Finance Systems and IT teams to support and deliver ongoing systems developments, including working with test scripts and procedures, and providing training documentation.

This role requires a finance systems expert with strong accounting and IT skills, excellent customer service skills, and a strong team manager and team player. The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate a continues improvement mindset and capability to adapt processes to adequately support business activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Finance Systems BAU team
