Job Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical CAMHS Practitioner within the Central Eating Disorder team at Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board.

The Clinical CAMHS Practitioner for Eating Disorders role has been developed as part of the Mental Health improvement agenda, aiming to enhance CYP eating disorders services regionally and nationally.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide assessment and intervention, as well as specific evidence-based therapies, to children and young people with Eating disorders and eating difficulties, alongside mental health problems and significant mental health disorders.
  • Offer consultation and support to front-line professionals in understanding and supporting children/young people and families through training, advice, and direction, in addition to the delivery of early intervention programmes.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including families, carers, and other professionals, to ensure seamless care and support.

This post will form part of a strong multi-disciplinary team, offering robust career development and CPD opportunities to ensure the delivery of high-quality, contemporary, evidence-based care working with young people.

The successful candidate must be able to practice autonomously, exercising judgment about actions, accepting responsibility, and being held to account for them, ensuring the highest standards of care are delivered to Children & Young People with an Eating Disorder.

  • Ability to work autonomously and make informed decisions.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Desirable: ability to speak Welsh.
