Database Developer Job Description

At Future plc, we're seeking a skilled Database Developer to join our Marketforce team. As a key member of our team, you'll play a crucial role in developing and maintaining our Oracle applications.

Main Responsibilities
  • Support core applications and BAU activities, providing user acceptance testing and delivering the programme and project roadmap for our in-house applications using Oracle applications.
  • Investigate potential software bugs, troubleshoot existing code, and identify/implement solutions.
  • Ensure that code is written to efficiently manipulate large datasets and carry out performance investigation and improvement work.
  • Develop data migration scripts while moving data across databases, from flat files and Excel to tables.
  • Work and align with Software Engineers within the team to deliver developments across multiple applications.
  • Technical experience writing production code for Oracle applications.
  • Expertise in Oracle databases (PL/SQL and SQL Plus).
  • Experience in debugging and performance tuning PL/SQL code.
  • Experience with ETL processing, data extraction, transform, and load.
  • Linux skills desirable.

We offer a competitive salary range of £40,000 - £50,000 and a hybrid working arrangement from our London Paddington Office, with two days in the office and three days working from home. We also offer a share in our success through our profit pool bonus scheme, where all colleagues are eligible to join if Future hits their performance targets.
