About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled SQL Database Engineer to join our team at Ennismore. As a key member of our data management team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining efficient database systems using MS SQL Server, Google BigQuery, or other structured/unstructured database solutions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement efficient database systems to support our data-driven roadmap strategy.
  • Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and views for reporting and data integration.
  • Manage data warehouses, ensuring data integrity, security, and availability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement APIs to interface with databases and other applications.
  • Perform data migration, transformation, and normalization between systems.
  • Continuously identify areas for database performance improvement and proactively address bottlenecks.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues in a timely manner.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices to enhance data management strategies.
Requirements
  • Experience as a SQL Database Engineer or similar role.
  • Database Expertise: Proficiency in MS SQL Server and Google BigQuery or similar databases (both structured and unstructured data).
  • Experience with other database platforms such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or NoSQL.
  • Strong Familiarity with ETL processes, data pipelines, and cloud infrastructure.
  • API Knowledge: Experience with APIs and integration into database systems is a must.
  • Data Warehousing: Strong experience in managing and maintaining data.
  • Knowledge of data security and compliance regulations.
  • Strong understanding of performance tuning and database optimization.
About You

  • Learning Mindset: Willingness to make mistakes, experiment, and learn from them.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of ideating, executing, and building out Datawarehouse's and Data lakes.
  • Knowledge of the Hotel Industry and experience working within hospitality is beneficial, especially in the areas of booking engine optimisation, upselling, and digital guest experience.
  • Experience working across complex businesses and managing different stakeholders.
