About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Engineer to join our team at Royal HaskoningDHV Zwolle. As a key member of our Rivers and Water Management team, you will be responsible for providing technical direction and supervision to junior staff, as well as developing local technical systems and standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical direction and supervision to junior staff in the areas of flooding and drainage modelling and engineering assignments
  • Develop local technical systems and standards for our clients
  • Supervise and instruct junior staff in technical modelling assessment and design works
  • Check and review deliverables to ensure high quality
  • Prepare commercial, technical, and financial proposals for flood and stormwater modelling and design projects
  • Prepare work plans and programmes for resources and scheduling to complete projects on time and on budget
  • Conduct investigations, studies, analyses, concept design, and documentation, and recommend actions
  • Provide high-level technical advice to engineers and scientists from other disciplines

Requirements

  • Highly effective technical and practical scientific and engineering skills in the relevant disciplines
  • Experience in and recent completion of flood impact assessments, particularly using the TUFLOW software programme, and drainage system analysis and design
  • Ability to provide direction and advice on technical matters, teach, mentor, and lead others in the team
  • Outward-looking and able to consistently deliver quality, accurate, and timely work
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, confident and personable, and a team player
  • Independent thinker with good organisational skills and essential civil/environmental engineering degree
