Role Overview
We are seeking a Supportive Educator in SEMH settings to join our dedicated team at Austin Fraser. This role is ideal for individuals who are committed, resilient, and skilled in managing challenging behaviours.
About the Role
- Support students with SEMH needs in both their academic and personal development.
- Implement individualised strategies to manage and improve challenging behaviours.
- Foster a safe and inclusive learning environment that promotes student well-being.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to support comprehensive student progress.
- Utilise trauma-informed practices to better understand and address the needs of students.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children who display challenging behaviours.
- Strong character and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Deep understanding and empathy towards the diverse backgrounds of our pupils.
- Preferable: Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles.
- Transferable experience from roles such as support worker, care homes, young offenders, etc.
What We Offer
