**Job Type:** Temporary, Part-time

**Location:** Thornton - Cleveleys area

**Job Description:**

We are seeking a qualified Teaching Assistant to provide general class support in a primary school setting. The ideal candidate will have experience working with young people, be comfortable managing challenging behaviors, and be able to engage with and build rapport with students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with classroom teachers and teaching assistants to organize activities and support student learning.
  • Liaise with other professionals, such as teachers, teaching assistants, and specialist support staff, to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
  • Work closely with other learning support assistants and support staff to provide a comprehensive support system for students.
  • Support students with reading, writing, journal keeping, and core skill development, as well as prepare and develop class displays.
  • Keep up-to-date records of student progress and contribute to the development of individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Create a calm and supportive learning environment that promotes student engagement and academic success.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with young people, preferably in a primary school setting.
  • Ability to manage challenging behaviors and create a positive learning environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, teachers, and other staff members.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Qualifications: CACHE Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
