Executive Chef Assistant

About the Role:
Award-winning Ashdown Appointments is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our esteemed team at a popular village pub. As a key member of our kitchen brigade, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in the preparation and presentation of modern British and European cuisine.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Chef in menu planning, food preparation, and presentation
- Supervise and train junior kitchen staff to ensure high standards of quality and service
- Manage kitchen inventory, ordering, and stock control
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment, adhering to health and safety regulations
- Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop new menu ideas and specials
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a Sous Chef in a similar establishment
- Proven track record of menu planning, food preparation, and presentation
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
