Job Overview

We are a newly refurbished skin centre that provides collaborative working opportunities with plastic surgery colleagues. Our services include day case surgery, micrographic surgery, paediatric dermatology, lymphoma, phototherapy, photodynamic therapy, drug monitoring, biologics clinic, and patch testing. We have an active Day Treatment Unit and Nurse Treatment clinics offering cryotherapy, intralesional steroid injections, and iontophoresis. Our team of Specialist Dermatology Outreach nurses supervises the care of dermatology in-patients and medical/surgical patients with skin complaints on acute wards. We have active academic meetings and SPA time for attending the RSM, St John's Society meetings, and the Oxford Regional meeting.

We pride ourselves in developing our team by offering support with CESR.

Main Duties of the Job

We are seeking a full-time Dermatology Specialty Doctor at Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust. The post holder will join an established team of five consultants, specialty trust doctors, junior staff, and specialist nurses to provide high-quality and safe outpatient and inpatient care. The Department is looking for individuals who are enthusiastic, dynamic, and committed to delivering services that reflect best clinical practice within the specialty of Dermatology. The applicant will need to have experience in diagnosing and managing all aspects of general dermatology. The Dermatology Department is based at Amersham Hospital.

  • MB,BS or equivalent GMC registerable qualifications
  • Allergy or Immunology related qualifications

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND PERSONAL

  • Computing skills: ability to use word processor, spreadsheet programme, and web browser.
  • Good written English

EXPERIENCE

Essential Criteria

  • Experience of teaching undergraduates and trainees
  • Experience of routine clinical audit
  • Knowledge of the organisation of the NHS and the Government's agenda for its modernisation
